JEFFRY JAHN TRIBUTE

Dr. Jeffry A. Jahn, December 21, 1959 – February 20, 2015

In Tribute and Celebration of a Life Well Lived – Good and Faithful Steward

“Sometimes bright stars illuminate our path for shorter periods of time than we would wish.”
– Supporter of ARS and admirer of Jeffry Jahn

“The Maestro of all maestros.”
– Grant Jahn, Jeffry’s son

For 25 years ARS blossomed under the gifted musical direction of Dr. Jeffry A. Jahn. His energy and passion for choral arts inspired his singers and audiences alike. Although everyone associated with ARS – singers, supporters, audiences – are profoundly heartbroken by his untimely death, we are immeasurably blessed by the many years that Jeffry graced our community as a musician, mentor, educator, composer, humorist…and generous-hearted friend to so many people. Jeffry, we know you are conducting the heavenly choir of angels with the same enthusiasm and unbridled joy you shared with all of us.

How Can I Keep From Singing?
My life goes on in endless song,
Above earth’s lamentations,
I hear the real, though far-off hymn
That hails a new creation.

Through all the tumult and the strife
I hear it’s music ringing,
It sounds an echo in my soul.
How can I keep from singing?
